Easter: Memphis, TN Child Photographer

This photography journey of mine started almost 5 years ago... When I took my then 18 month old baby girl to a large department store that shall remain nameless, in an effort to show how much she had grown since we'd been there six months before. I don't know if it something was in the air, or if it was a forshadowing of what the terrible twos would be like, but it was horrible. Who knows how they got a great shot out of that day, it was a miracle. But all I think about when I see that picture is, "what a hellacious day."

In an effort to make images that we enjoyed more, and had more of an enjoyable time creating, I dove into my photography hobby, and learned so much those first few years with the help of awesome friends and lots of time reading in barnes and noble while the kids tinkered with trains... it's been an amazing journey, and while I still learn everytime I do a session, and I still am constantly looking around amazon for inspiring books, the overall experience has improved for my kids.

I am a firm believer that if you can't take good photos of your own kids (who are always your hardest clients, by far) then it's time to pack it up and be done. That day for us hasn't come yet, though the more kids we add to the crew, the more creative I have to get. This day will forever be known as the "day Mac made me play fetch for a smile" or the "I can't take a picture without my sister" for Luke. Good kids & I love em deeply.

Enjoy and hope everyone had a great Easter! DSC_0169c DSC_0195DSC_0140 DSC_0214 DSC_0201DSC_0360 DSC_0142
