My baby is 6 months old. Holy cow. How can it be. We spend most of our days around here running like crazy. It's seriously nuts, and not very pretty. People have mentioned a lot lately that they don't know how I can keep up photography along with every thing else. I feel so blessed to be able to meet and capture so many amazing families. It's such an amazing experience and I completely love it. Even though there are many nights I'd rather be kicking my feet up and watching television with the husband, the relationships I've made over the last few years are ones that I treasure.
I've noticed in our family that time continues marching on. And I thought I'd share a little of personal thoughts for anyone that reads this little blog of photography. I love finding beauty in the small moments. I love to scrapbook, and more often than not my favorite pages are those times where time is frozen more than the numerous holidays, birthday, etc. Last week, I was getting ready to shoot a session in my home (the husband loves these, because it means everything looks pretty…). I got everything cleaned and ready and had a little time to just play with my baby girl. Everyone else was at school, it was quiet, and I just got to snuggle my little one. The mom of my session left something at home and had to run back to get it, thus running a few minutes late. I can tell she was frazzled and annoyed at being late. In looking back at the day though, I felt grateful that she was "late". It gave me the chance to spend time with my little girl and take a few shots of us playing together. I guess though it was frustrating to her, to me it was an answered prayer. I've been reflecting since then on how much pressure we put on ourselves, and how hard it is to see the big picture when we get bogged down with the day to day. One of my resolutions for the year is to take more pictures of my own kiddos, and because she wasn't right there on time I was able to. We should be more gentle with ourselves, and snuggle our babies more. There are too many things wrong with this world not to appreciate the small moments. Things I treasure right now are drooly smiles, and chubby fingers. Enjoy.

Living Life Out Loud
It's personal. You see here every week or so me posting a peek for some family or wedding promising more to come. It's been difficult finding balance between pouring my heart into my photography, and having three amazingly wonderful reasons not to. Wife & Mom first. Photographer second. But oh how I hate to dissappoint folks! It's frustrating. Especially when I know how exciting it is to have photographs taken of my sweet family, and the suspense that lingers until you see how they turned out. I feel so blessed. I've gotten to meet so many amazing people the last few months. It's been a wild ride, and I'm ready for the summer break.
Popcicles, pool side, vacations, & lots and lots of hugs, kisses and snuggles. I refuse to let these moments pass me by.
Enjoy a glimpse into our world. It was a great evening, and completely worth the $9.99 investment for the "hippo bath".
That is all.

The Creative Genius
Today while in the post office I had a freak out moment. I had given my three year old car keys responsibility while I mailed a package to a friend (Shilo Duke keep your eyes peeled, and prepared to be amazed...). Lo and behold I look up from checking on the babe only to find him shutting the drop box door. Sheer panic!!! I pretty much quietly shriek "where are the keys?!?" ( okay, maybe it was an actual scream)
After a few seconds of freak out I look down to find they are in my hands. Somewhere between the parking lot and standing in line I had taken back the key responsibility. The lady in front of me in line died laughing and I was left there sheepishly watching my boy run a muck.
Which begs me to ask the question...what do you do when you realize you are losing it? Thankfully, Those moments of insanity don't happen that often, though I am finding them more frequent then they used to be. Though this does seem to be the threshold of insanity for a few reasons.
1. What was I even thinking about taking my three year old into a post office? It's one of the places I make it a point to avoid.
2. Who gives a three year old their car keys, no matter how much they want to help?
Case in point. It was all together crazy, but when you see these images blogged next week you will understand my excitement over mailing them off.
Insane, most definitely. But between you and I, we'll just chalk it up to creative genius.

Time sure does fly, when you're having fun...
It is unreal of me to think that 9 years ago today, I married this handsome guy. We started out together, very young, very green, and very much in love.
I am so grateful for how supportive he is of me following my dreams. I wouldn't be able to do what I love without his confidence and encouragement. He is my rock and completely keeps me grounded. It's been awesome to have my best friend beside me everyday for almost a decade! And has given me the best 2.8 gifts that a mom could ever ask for. Love you so much hon! Happy Anniversary.

A few weeks ago, he asked me how much I would charge him to work up some office shots for a new orientation DVD that he was putting together for his clinic. I worked up a price based on how many lunch dates that I wanted to get out of it, and we struck a deal. We were so grateful for our willing models. Em and Adam did awesome! But my favorite were these little guys. Not that I'm partial to my own children or anything, they just turned out so cute! (I had to share...)

So if you live in the area and are in need to some Chiropractic services, you should give him a call. He's located at 5099 Old Summer Road, right by Summer and White Station Rd. Also, this month he's giving away 2 half hour massage session. All you have to do it "Like" his Whole Health Chiropractic facebook page before Thanksgiving. Names will be drawn on Black Friday...

The massage therapist at his office does amazing work, and would be a fantastic way to relax during stressful December! Have a great day all!!!
