Okay folks. I know everyone is in denial like me. But for real, SUMMER IS ALMOST OVER. 

It's crazy, before we know it we will be buying school supplies, new clothes, and planning our Christmas cards. Yep, I totally put it out there, because it's true.

I'll be honest. Most of my fall sessions are done in October/November. And personally, it makes life a little bit hectic. So I thought that I'd try to give some monetary incentive as well as five other reasons for why you should consider booking sooner than later. 

Top 5 reasons you should schedule your Fall Session in August or September:

5. Your kids will get fresh suckers as bribery, instead of just my kids left over halloween candy.

4. You can coordinate your back to school clothes with your coordinated Christmas card clothes. Double bonus, budget saver! (And I really like the color versitility)

3. You still have some summer color & a decent looking tan. If you're like me most of the summer glow is gone by November. 

2. You're kids don't have to chance looking like popsicles. Cold kids rarely make for cute photos. And sometimes October/November days turn out to be randomly cold. It happens. And everyone has their shoulders up to their ears or hands tucked in sweaters so they look like they don't have fingers. True story. 

1. It's one less thing to do between the holiday palooza madness that kicks off at Halloween and ends in a comatose crash Christmas Day around noon. Check & Check. Done.

Christmas Mini-Mini: Lakeland, TN Family Photographer

This is it. The last photos I will be taking before I get my Christmas, so I will have plenty of time to get my presents wrapped and treats made for the parties that come up the closer you get to Christmas. If you're like me, you don't really need a full session of your kiddos, but would like to have something current to stash in the Christmas card, then this session is for you. It's that time of year! Fall is here and I'm ready to get scheduling. I've been putting this off, badly. And that says something, because this is my favorite time of year. Adjusting to 4 kids has been very overwhelming, and I can't even complain about the baby... She's a dream, and we love her. Last weekend I got the chance to hang out with some great folks and it made me realize how much I've missed it the last few months.

Today we spent the afternoon at the zoo, and I realized that 2013 is flying by so fast. Where did January go? It's unreal. With that thought, I realized that I probably should get myself in gear and get word out on when I'd be having my first "spring" sessions.

Traveling Anyone?

It's just that time of year. VACATIONS! I love them. I adore traveling. I get the itch every now and then to just hit the road and go see somewhere new. I can't wait for the hubs to get the business built up more so that we can travel together. all. the. time. Something to look forward to down the road.


With the traveling we've got planned this summer, I thought I would offer a special to anyone who'd like to have family portraits done while we're there. Why, do you ask? Well, because it's fun to meet new folks, and it's also a challenge to create beauty somewhere new and different. Any session can be done, except full blown newborn, just because I can't cart all the garb that it takes for those little ones. It's gonna be fun!

Spring Special 2012

It's that time of year again...

I am so excited to get 2012 kicked off. It's gonna be a great year folks! I am so excited about shooting the spring mini sessions at the Botanic Gardens. I've taken my own little ones there over the last few years and have loved it. There are some really gorgeous colors they just pop in the spring.

Can you tell how excited I am to not be pregnant anymore? It's gonna be great to be able to move and chase little ones without being so physically challenged. That being said, I now have three children, and my free time for sessions is not quite as free as it was before. It's amazing how adding just one more little person has seemed to add so much time and LAUNDRY! I can't help it though, I am quite addicted to snuggling my little guy.

So... Sessions are more limited than before. I am booked Saturday afternoon only sessions as far as weekend and evenings go, but if you're game for a weekday session let me know. We can make those happen as well. I am limiting the number that I am taking each month, so first come, first served. Below are the open weekend times:

BLACK FRIDAY & BEYOND

Happy November! Crazy that the fall is flying by so fast. Once we celebrate the joy of Thanksgiving and being with family and friends we love, the thoughts of Christmas and good deals invariably follow. Black Friday and I have a love/hate relationship. I LOVE getting a good deal. I HATE getting up super early. Seeing as my pregnant self is in no mood to wait in lines this year, I thought it would be good atleast to hand out some deals to fans and clients. Maybe you've put off having your family portraits done because you've been so busy with school, sports, among just a few things. Due to some interest from clients, I thought it would be good to put together a November special, and to open up sessions for the weekend after Thanksgiving! It's that time of year again folks...Fall. It is one of my favorite times of year, new school clothes, football games, GREAT weather, and then the holidays. It seems like Halloween hits, and the time begins to fly at light speed. Last year, I had my Cyber Monday deal, and that was the best deal of the year. This year, we are welcoming our third little one into the world right after Christmas, so I thought it might be good to run a good deal earlier. That way you still get a steal, I don't work past Christmas (I don't imagine me working the last month of pregnancy would be pleasant for anyone to watch.), and it's one less thing to get done around the holidays, right?

My fall special goes with the mini-session that I offer. What is a mini-session? Well, it's a 30-40 minute photo shoot with up to 5 people, and then you get a gallery to choose from 20-30 of the best of your session. It's simple. It's the perfect time for husbands that want to get back to football games, and kids that have oh so short attention spans.

Usually the mini-sessions are $50.00, but if you book your session before Saturday, September 10th, then you get $20.00 off that price. Why $20.00 off you ask? Well, my birthday is this month, and seeing as I am about to embark on the last year of my 20's, I thought I'd knock that much off the price. AND if that isn't enough, along with the birthday discount you also get 20% off print pricing, and a FREE 8x10. So don't delay. Due to the pregnacy, spacing is limited. Can't Beat a Good Deal, right?

In response to a few email's I've received, I wanted to share a little May love. Say you held off from booking a session last month because Easter was insane, or maybe you just wanted to have a little sun for your portraits. Whatever held you back, here's the deal.

Book before May 1st, meaning talk to me before Saturday ends, and I will honor the April deal of a mini session that includes:

40 minutes of custom photography

1 FREE 8x10 Print

2 FREE 5x7 Prints

at the mini-session price of only $50.00

It pretty much makes the sitting fee FREE because you make it up in free print credits. As for the month of May, I've only got 1 spots open for mini-sessions

Once these spots are gone then I'll remove them from the above list. Sessions are limited to 5 people. Any more will be subject to an additional charge. If you'd like to book for June or July that is great too, though it's probably going to be quite a bit hotter. I'm game if you are though! Spring Mini-Sessions

Happy Spring everyone! To celebrate the coming of great weather, I'm having a sensational special, probably the best one of the year. For the normal $50.00 sitting fee, you get a FREE 8x10 Print, and two FREE 5x7's. That pretty much makes the sitting free, with the print credit valued around $50.00. Photography is done on location at the Collierville Town Square, and is for up to 5 people. Sessions are limited, and must be booked before April 1st, so you've got til Thursday night! With all the Valentines love going on last week, I was swamped and couldn't post this to the blog. I did this session a couple of weeks ago, and loved them so much, it was only appropriate that they were shown to you during February. Little ones straight from heaven. I am always in awe when I get try and capture them during their first few days after arrival. Little Ms E here was no exception. Such a sweet girl, such darling smiles. She was a dream. Thanks so much J family for letting us get back together with your sweet little one!

The First of Much Love this week...

Maybe it's because when I was a little girl my mom and dad always made a big deal about Valentines day, or it could be that now that I am married, I am always down with any excuse for chocolate and kisses. Either way, February is one of my favorite months. I love Valentines day, and I love that usually by the end of the month spring is emerging. It's fantastic. So I thought I would spread a little love this week to celebrate.

First, it's called operation coolest Valentines ever. Let me explain... All you do is take a photo of your child with their hand out in a fist, then you get them printed, cut slits on the top and bottom of their hand, and slide a sucker in. I think it's a fantastic idea, and take absolutely no credit for it. It came from the Amazing Stie, whom I both love as friend, read as a blogger, and admire as a photographer. She's great. You can also see her photography here.

Here is a copy of the valentine that her sweet girl gave Ms. K last year. Can you imagine how grown up she felt? Well, it did.



And now for the love...If you would like these for your kids, but don't want to take the photo yourself, let me do it. I'll come over, it will only take a minute, and then fancy them up for you and have them printed at my cost. Grab a bag of suckers and you're good to go! We just have to have them done by Thursday so that they can get printed and back in time for those parties! In exchange, I just smack my little logo and website on the back, just to help get the word around of my little photography business to other parents that might need some photography done. Win for all!

Why Christmas in July?
Well, why not. July and August are a great time of year to get your family photos taken. Beat the fall busyness of back to school and trying to cram one more thing into your holiday season. And who doesn't want pictures in cute clothes of summer with a fantastic tan, rather than bulky sweaters with chilly smiles? Not to mention the money you'll be able to spend on things other than family pictures right before one of the most expensive times of they year. Don't think this is just for families though. This offer is good for any type of session: Senior Portraits, Birthday and Babies, Maternity, including full family sessions of up to 5 people with any additional people for a small fee.

Okay, so what's the deal?!?
You can schedule during the month of July to have a session completed before September 1st, and receive HALF off you sitting fee. Making an hour long session only $75.00! This is the best deal of the year, so if you're wanting to get it done don't delay! Spacing is limited.

-1 hour photography session at a location of your choice
-5-7 hours of post processing of images to get them ready for your viewing
